Who We Are

How We THRIVE is an experiment in "just doing it." It began with a few people dreaming of an event that would capture the energy and possibilities that are alive in our Atlantic region right now. People from across networks, communities and walks of life would come together for four days—enough time to get below the surface of challenges that persist, share stories and inspiration, pick up new tools and strategies, and listen to what the future is calling for.

Drawing on the legacy of the Authentic Leadership in Action (ALIA) Summer Institutes (2000-14), Engage Nova Scotia's Stepping Up conference (2015), and the Community Sector Council's Many Hands, Many Voices conference (2017), How We THRIVE hosted a four-day learning event June 17-20, 2018.

After four days we left with a richer understanding of how we can accelerate positive change in our communities and region. We began to uncover a shared story about how we thrive, now and into the future. And we took home tools and connections that will help us move towards that future. Read more about what happened in June 2018.

The 2019 Team

At THRIVE, the journey is the goal. Preparing for a THRIVE event is an ongoing process of listening for what’s percolating and what’s ready, building relationships, sharing information, and adjusting as we go. If you’d like to join the Incubation team, contact Hélène. Our first formal meeting will take place on Zoom at noon, December 10.
